The Battle of the Queens is an annual professional wrestling event that takes place in the United States. It is promoted by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) as part of their Raw brand. The match usually features two female wrestlers, typically one from WWE’s main roster and one from its developmental promotion NXT, competing in a wrestling match.
The first Battle of the Queens took place on February 17, 2002 at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando, Florida. The second battle took place on March 10, 2006 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. In May 2014 it was announced that the third Battle of the Queens would take place at WrestleMania XXX in April 2015. On January 25,2015 it was announced that the Battle of the Queens would be moved to Fastlane and take place on February 17, 2015.
On February 18th 2015 Kylie Rae defeated Melina to become NWA Powerr SE Wrestling’s inaugural Queen Champion.
Kylie Rae is a Scottish wrestler who has been working for WWE developmental territory NXT since January 2016.
Melina is a Russian wrestler who has been working for WWE since 2008
The match began with both women trading strikes before Melina attempted an arm drag but was reversed by Kylie Rae into a side headlock takedown. Melina eventually got free and landed several hard chops to Kylie Rae’s chest before hitting her with a jawbreaker off the ropes for a near fall
