AEW Rampage Results for Sept. 8:
The Sept. 8 edition of AEW Rampage was a rollercoaster of action and drama, setting the stage for some epic showdowns in the coming weeks.
In the opening match of the quarterfinal round of the Grand Slam world title eliminator tournament, Penta El Zero M faced off against Jay Lethal. It was a hard-fought battle that saw interference from Jeff Jarrett, Karen Jarrett, Sonjay Dutt, and Satnam Singh on Lethal’s side. Despite their efforts, the referee quickly caught them and ejected all four from ringside. In a shocking turn of events, Lethal managed to pull off Penta’s mask during the match. In a thrilling trios match, Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida, and Skye Blue faced off against Anna Jay, The Bunny, and Taya Valkyrie. The match saw some tension between Baker and Shida, with Baker tagging herself in on Shida’s back. Despite a miscommunication where Baker was shoved into Shida, they managed to secure the win, with Baker forcing The Bunny to tap out to her Lockjaw finisher. However, Shida was clearly unhappy with Baker’s actions after the match.

The Young Bucks rebounded with a victory over Daddy Magic and Cool Hand Ang. Jake Hager interfered on behalf of Daddy and Cool, leading to chants of “Where’s your hat?” from the fans. The Bucks, undeterred, superkicked Hager off the apron and finished off Magic with the BTE Trigger for the three-count.
Mike Santana delivered a passionate message, emphasizing his determination to stand out and be the best, even if it means making some enemies along the way.
In the final match of the night, Samoa Joe faced off against Jeff Hardy in the Grand Slam world title eliminator tournament. Jeff put up a valiant fight but ultimately fell victim to Joe’s Coquina Clutch, forcing him to tap out. Samoa Joe advanced in the tournament, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the next stage of this epic competition.
