TNA star finally goes on record about the impact that WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, better known as The American Nightmare, has had on his career in an interview with Chris Van Vliet for Insight. This Scottish wrestler narrated his experience from earning his big break in WhatCulture Pro Wrestling to getting a TNA contract, of which significant events were dictated by his encounters with Rhodes.
Hendry remembered the first meetings with Rhodes during the cooperation in WhatCulture Pro Wrestling. Hendry also stated his apprehension in acknowledging the ability of Rhodes and confessing to PsychedOut that he felt the pressure to compete with the ability of the star alongside other wrestlers in the promotion.
Speaking about the missed opportunities for the mentorship, Hendry added that his desire to perform and stepped up in the company acted as a veil of moving forward instead of taking the Gibson’s Rhodes as a source for gaining the knowledge and experience.
But their interaction renewed in 2019 when, as a wrestler Rhode proceeded to become seminal at the recently created All Elite Wrestling (AEW), he contacted Hendry. Though she could not secure him a job at AEW, Rhodes helped set up a call between him and Ring of Honor (ROH). On this moment turned out to be very important in the progression of Hendry’s career in up to the present position of Impact Wrestling.
