Angelina Love Makes History as First TNA Knockouts Champion to Win While Unconscious
In a recent interview, Angelina Love spoke about her very first title win, which almost turned out to be a disaster.
During the early years of TNA, Angelina Love was a major highlight. She is the first Knockout to ever become a six-time champion.
At Lockdown 2009, she fought Awesome Kong and Taylor Wilde in a three-way cage match to win her first Knockouts title. Wilde landed directly on Angelina’s head during the seven-minute bout.
Despite being unconscious for a considerable amount of time, Love eventually regained consciousness to pin Wilde and win the match.
The incident is recalled by Angelina Love
Love discussed some of her title victories with “WrestlingNewsCo” and which ones meant the most to her. Next, she talked about the incident in which she lost consciousness.
Love said, “I’d love to say that winning the championship for the first time was my best, most memorable moment.” However, Love was unconscious when the incident took place. The event didn’t go the way I envisioned it, but I am extremely proud of it, since that was when TNA was rocking and rolling.
After Spike TV, the Ultimate Fighter followed us.Due to WWE’s PG policy, everyone was going to TNA, where Velvet and I were really pushing the envelope. I was at the height of my success at that time, and it was awesome,” Love said.
