Braun Strowman has been back with WWE for a while now, which makes his fans very happy. His work has had its share of problems, though. Recently, Strowman has been criticized for making controversial comments on social media that are thought to hurt his own career.
A Good Beginning
In his early days in WWE, Strowman was a part of the Wyatt Family. He quickly became famous for being intimidating and very strong. He had such high hopes for him that, at one point, he was even put forward as a possible opponent for the famous Undertaker. His journey has had many highs and lows, with times when he was in charge followed by times when he didn’t do anything.
Monster Among Men has become a fearsome force on RAW during his current run, involving himself in a well-known battle with The Judgment Day. Even though he is good in the ring and has a lot of fans, Strowman’s success has been harmed by how public he is, especially on social media.
The Sayings That Angered People
As the outbreak started in 2020, Braun Strowman said some hurtful things about independent wrestlers who were having a hard time making ends meet because many events had to be canceled. In a now-famous social media post, Strowman said that people who were having trouble paying their bills should think about switching jobs.
“Okay, here’s more of this “pay my bills” thing. If you can’t pay your bills, you might want to look for a new job. I gave up strongman because of that. I loved it, but I couldn’t afford to live there. Instead of starting a GoFundMe or Patreon to get someone to take care of me, I worked harder than I ever have before to get where I am. Where did taking responsibility for your deeds go?
A lot of people in the wrestling community didn’t like what Strowman said and called him out for not understanding or empathizing. The comments were seen as especially hurtful because many artists were going through problems that had never been seen before at the time.
Effects on His Job
A few weeks ago, Konnan talked about how Strowman’s comments affected his business on an episode of his Keepin’ It 100 show. Konnan said that Strowman has always had a lot of friends, but that his popularity dropped a lot after he made the controversial statements.
“He’s trying to compare him to other guys who do great promos, even though we told him he was over.” He doesn’t need to do great ads. Not Strowman, but they were having fun with him before they cooled him off. When Strowman made fun of people online, he calmed down. It’s like, “Oh no, you don’t have a job.” He got in trouble for that.
Konnan’s words show how difficult it is for wrestlers to keep their in-ring characters and real-life acts in sync. While Strowman’s work in the ring has always pleased fans, his behavior outside of work has sometimes hurt his reputation as a professional.
Moving On
Even with all the problems, Strowman is still an important figure in WWE. Because of his larger-than-life personality and amazing speed, he is able to connect with fans and stay a key player on Raw. But the effect of what he said in the past serves as a warning of how important it is to be professional both inside and outside the ring.
Strowman is going to keep being vocal for a while. People have always known that he says what he thinks, good or bad. As he moves forward in WWE, it will be interesting to see how he deals with the problems that come with being famous in the digital age.
At the moment, fans can look forward to more of Strowman’s explosive shows on Monday Night Raw. There is no question that the Monster Among Men will continue to be a major player in the world of professional wrestling. It remains to be seen if he can fully regain the energy he had before.
