There are serious charges against a former wrestling star who is making a self-defense claim. It was June 15 when former wrestling star Cold Scorpio, whose real name is Charles Scaggs, was arrested after getting into a very heated argument. The event, which happened early in the morning at a Love’s Travel Stop in Kansas City, Missouri, has been closely watched and different stories have been told about it.
The event takes place
Court papers and witnesses say that Scaggs, who was working as a security guard at the time, saw a guy inside the business who was reportedly smoking in a way that was against the rules. When Scaggs went up to the person who was later named as the victim, tempers flared. The guy, whose name has not been released, allegedly refused to follow Scaggs’ orders, which led to a heated argument.
TMZ Sports spoke to onlookers and police, who said the situation quickly got worse as verbal fighting went physical. As he told police what happened, Scaggs said that he moved in self-defense because the man had allegedly threatened him and tried to hurt him outside of the shop. However, it was during this fight that Scaggs admits to using a knife and cutting the victim multiple times.
Different Testimonies
On the other hand, the hurt man, who was being treated at a nearby hospital, told detectives a different story. He said that Scaggs started the fight, which contradicted Scaggs’s claim that he was acting defensively. When police arrived at the scene, they saw that the victim had serious injuries all over his body, which showed that there had been a rough physical fight.
Effects on the law and future proceedings
After what happened, Scaggs was quickly caught and is now facing major charges, such as first-degree attack and dangerous criminal action. Even though he posted bail and pleaded not guilty, the attorney’s case involving the former WWE star is far from over. Court dates coming up in the next few weeks offer more thought into what happened and what happened after the fight.
William Note’s
In our job as reporters, it’s our job to look deeper than the news and find the complex levels of every story. The case of 2 Cold Scorpio shows how complicated human relationships are and how quickly disagreements can get worse, often in ways that change people’s lives. Even though Scaggs says he moved to protect himself, the hurt person’s story makes it seem less likely that he really did.
