The original name of Jacob Fatu’s WWE ring was revealed
Jacob Fatu, the former MLW Heavyweight Champion, made news earlier this year when he signed with WWE. His latest appearance on the June 21st show of Friday Night SmackDown made him even more well-known in the wrestling world. But fans were shocked when Fatu walked into the ring with his real name, Jacob Fatu, instead of the ring name that everyone thought he was using, Caesar Sikoa.
A Strong Start
On the 21st of June, Jacob Fatu made a huge entrance on Friday Night SmackDown. The big wrestler let out his anger by destroying Kevin Owens and Randy Orton, and then he hit Cody Rhodes with a huge splash through the announcer’s table. It was clear what he meant: where Jacob Fatu walks, chaos rules.
A Name That Stands Out
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter says that WWE thought about calling Fatu “Caesar Sikoa” when he first came out and even registered the name as a brand. Surprisingly, though, WWE chose to promote Fatu under his real name, Jacob Fatu, instead of making up a stage name for brand reasons, as is usually done.
“Caesar Sikoa was the first idea for Fatu’s name, but they made the call to keep his Jacob Fatu name, which is surprising since it’s his real name,” Dave said.
Changing Old Customs
This choice is different from what WWE did in the past when Vince McMahon was in charge. McMahon often changed wrestlers’ names to claim brand control. McMahon’s plan was meant to stop former fighters from using their WWE identities in other places. The WWE rules seem more open now, though, since established stars like Jacob Fatu can keep their real names while newbies are given stage names.
Even though Fatu is mostly known in independent wrestling and MLW, WWE’s decision to let him keep his real name is a big change in how they brand their wrestlers. While WWE registered the name for Caesar Sikoa, Fatu hasn’t used it yet, so it could be used in the future.
What The Bloodline 2.0 Means
WWE’s return of The Bloodline 2.0 is picking up speed, and Jacob Fatu’s arrival gives the group even more power. Fans can’t wait to see how Fatu’s appearance will change the story and raise the faction’s status in the wrestling world as rumors about his part in the plot spread.
In a business where names are important and images are carefully created, WWE’s choice to use Jacob Fatu’s original name has effects outside of the ring. It shows respect for genuineness and honors the wrestler’s personal history. It sets a standard for how established abilities are honored in professional wrestling, which is always changing.
Jacob Fatu is still making his way in WWE. His rise from small-time shows to the world stage is not only a job milestone but also proof of how important identity is in the world of sports entertainment.
