El Desperado wants to face Jon Moxley again nearly a year after their first singles match.
The NJPW shared a promo from Desperado after he competed in GCW’s Tournament of Survival. It reminded Desperado of last year’s encounter with Moxley at Music City Mayhem.
Desperado did not mention the date of the match, but he mentioned he heard NJPW Strong was doing some cool stuff soon. Two Independence Day shows are scheduled for NJPW Strong this summer. On Tuesday, July 4 and Wednesday, July 5, NJPW Strong will host its first shows in Japan.
In July 2022, Moxley defeated Desperado in a no-disqualification match at NJPW Music City Mayhem. Desperado refused to tap out, so the match ended with a choke.
The following day, Desperado defeated Joey Janela in a death match at GCW’s Cage of Survival event.
On night two of NJPW Strong Independence Day, Kenta will defend the Strong Openweight Championship against Eddie Kingston. TJP & Francesco Akira will defend their IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team titles against Clark Connors & Dan Moloney on night one.
