A Short-Lived Legacy
Professional wrestling was forever changed by the formidable group known as The Hurt Business, which included Shelton Benjamin, Bobby Lashley, MVP, and Cedric Alexander. Their combined skill improved each member’s career and attracted a passionate fan base. But many of the group’s admirers were disappointed by its sudden split in 2021 and wished for a comeback that never came.
Remnants of Remorse
Bobby Lashley reflected on the split of the group with much emotion, stating that it “hurt his heart.” Fans all throughout the globe who thought the group’s potential was cut too soon felt the same way.
Roman Reigns, another well-known WWE personality, had a similar opinion, saying he thought The Hurt Business was broken up too soon. Their effect could be felt throughout the wrestling world, as seen by the hole they left behind.
Unrealized Expectations
Shelton Benjamin revealed his unfulfilled intentions for a Hurt Business reunion in a recent interview with Metro. Benjamin highlighted the faction’s importance in his professional path by calling it one of his “defining contributions” to wrestling. Benjamin said that the reunion arrangements were discussed and at first scheduled, but were later postponed and subsequently abandoned.
An Unused Possibility
“There was definitely conversation and planning for the Hurt Business to make a return,” Benjamin said. “Then again, nothing stayed the same. After setting dates and then changing them again, it was abruptly determined that it wouldn’t take place.” Benjamin addressed his displeasure honestly, comparing the situation like a knock to the head.
Benjamin noted that choices made in wrestling are often out of their hands, but he also stressed the opportunity The Hurt Business presented to improve each and every participant. “I believe there was so much more for each of us to achieve,” he said. “The absence of a showdown between Hurt Business and Bloodline remains one of wrestling’s missed opportunities.”
Within Closed Doors
When MVP said that Triple H, a significant player behind the scenes, blocked the faction’s comeback, controversy broke out. The complexity of decision-making inside the WWE hierarchy was highlighted by the controversy this disclosure caused, which included both fans and insiders.
Lost Forever
Though devoted followers hold out hope, the likelihood of a Hurt Business reunion is dwindling. The faction’s influence on the story of wrestling is evident in the recollections and highlight reels that bear witness to their history. Reminiscences for the time when The Hurt Business dominated the ring are still expressed by fans, demonstrating their lasting impact.
