Ricochet’s WWE Departure Fuels AEW Speculation
Recent trends have visible high-flying wrestler Ricochet nearing the stop of his WWE agreement, with strong indicators that he may not be renewing his deal. Unlike several WWE stars who these days secured new contracts, Ricochet seems determined to transport on, sparking full-size speculation about his next pass.
Many accept as true with that Ricochet is on his way to AEW, in particular after AEW President Tony Khan’s current feedback. Initially tight-lipped about Ricochet, Khan has because shifted his stance, suggesting that Ricochet’s arrival at AEW is probably drawing close.
Swerve Strickland Sounds the Alarm
During a recent interview at the Battleground Podcast, Swerve Strickland addressed the possibility of Ricochet joining AEW and shared his thoughts on the demanding situations awaiting any new talent:
“I mean, we’ve (Swerve & Ricochet) had our matches without the masks in MLW. We’ve had Strickland versus Ricochet before. It’s up to him. I don’t know. We’ll see,” Strickland remarked.
He continued with a stark warning, “Competition’s stiff in AEW, and there’s also a different type of ladder to climb in a lot of different ways here. It doesn’t necessarily make it easier. It’s difficulties on both sides of things, and you gotta adapt.”
Strickland emphasized the demanding nature of AEW, stating that adaptability is crucial for success: “AEW is — now more than ever, you gotta be an adaptable performer, way more so in AEW nowadays and so, if that’s true, get ready to put a different type of working boots on, and there’s a lot of people that don’t wanna make it easy, for anybody. It’s already not easy for me in the position I’m in. So, I’ve been in the position of the new guy coming in and I had to adapt. A lot of people have tried to adapt and they couldn’t do it.”
The AEW Locker Room: A Tough Environment
Strickland’s comments paint a picture of a fiercely competitive environment in AEW, where even seasoned performers find it challenging to adjust. “That goes to show you the type of locker room, the type of talent, the type of energy, the type of workload that comes in AEW,” he added.
As part of Team AEW that recently triumphed in the Blood & Guts match, Strickland understands the intense competition firsthand. He is set to defend his AEW World Championship at the upcoming All In event against Bryan Danielson, further underscoring the high stakes and relentless nature of AEW.
