Fans are getting more and more excited about the World Heavyweight Championship bout rematch between Logan Paul and Jey Uso ahead of Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 25. Freddie Prinze Jr., a former WWE writer and actor, is one among many who thinks Logan Paul should win the match.

He looked at the results of that major match and made his ambitions clear on an episode of his Wrestling with Freddie podcast. According to the former creative team member, a Logan Paul victory would make a splash in the WWE today and open the door to a battle with Gunther, one of the strongest forces in the company.

Prinze Jr. added, “I’m wishing for a Logan Paul win.” I want to see Gunther up against Logan Paul. I’d love to see Gunther presented as a true babyface. I’m not sure if they can make him face because he’s been such an excellent heel. Getting rid of such a skilled heel would be a shame.

According to Prinze Jr. such a title change would allow Paul to grow in WWE and help emphasize another trait in Gunther. Despite being called one of WWE’s top bad guys, making Gunther a favorite with fans could lift up the heavyweight division and rejuvenate his image.

Since he first started in WWE, Logan Paul has never gone unnoticed or unmentioned. The charm of Riddle and his great speed have let him adapt easily to life in wrestling. Since Jey Uso is the champion, Drew now feels even greater motivation to win a global title.

Things have gotten harder for them since WrestleMania. After the match, Paul branded Uso a “copycat,” upsetting the Bloodline’s favorite as a result. During a segment on Raw in April, Uso kicked Paul to get an actual fight going. Things got even more hostile from that point. Once the program wrapped up, Paul hid backstage and hit Uso with a surprise punch for the cameras, making people on social media very happy.

Paul put additional heat into the rivalry when Raw was shown live on May 5. After the show was over, Logan Paul put Jey Uso down with a knockout maneuver. Afterwards, Triple H tweeted about the incident on X (previously Twitter) and added the unusual caption “The show never ends.” The instant the video was published, many more became eagerly looking forward to the big collision.

While Prinze Jr. and some others think Paul is a great fit in WWE, others believe he hasn’t worked hard enough compared to constant wrestlers. Paul’s championship would confirm his legacy within WWE and also give new power to their current storylines.

The match between Logan Paul and Jey Uso is certain to be closely watched now that May 25 has been set. No matter who comes out of the match with the title, their decision will have a big impact on WWE, particularly if there’s a conflict with Gunther looming on the horizon.

You can watch Saturday Night’s Main Event on Saturday, May 25 at 8/7c, live on NBC or online on Peacock.
