What happened
International Fight Week 2026 was built around Conor McGregor’s return, and it ended in 69 seconds. McGregor injured his knee on a jumping kick early in the rematch with Max Holloway, took an unsteady step back, and the referee stopped the fight. Holloway, whom McGregor beat in 2013, gets the win on paper.
The fight that should be remembered: Paddy Pimblett’s 52-second D’arce choke of Benoît Saint Denis in the co-main event. Saint Denis is a dangerous grappler, and finishing him that quickly is the best win of Pimblett’s career.
Our take
injury stoppages in big fights are nobody’s fault, but this one leaves McGregor’s UFC future more uncertain than ever. The more meaningful results were further down: Mario Bautista’s clean decision over Cory Sandhagen puts him in the bantamweight title picture, and Brandon Royval’s third-round submission of Lone’er Kavanagh keeps him near the front of the flyweight queue behind champion Joshua Van.
