Wrestling Headliner

Editorial Policy

How Wrestling Headliner sources, verifies, rates, labels opinion and corrects everything it publishes.

These are the standards every Wrestling Headliner writer follows. They apply to news stories, results pages, previews, rumors, guides, record tables and athlete profiles.

1. Sourcing

  • Every factual claim must be supported by an official source (the promotion, federation, commission or event organiser), official results, or reliable reporting from an established outlet.
  • Every story links its main source, and record tables list theirs at the foot of the page.
  • When sources disagree, we say so and mark the fact as being verified rather than choosing one.

2. Verification

  • Results, champion lineages, records and schedules are checked against at least one primary source before publication and are dated with the day they were last verified.
  • The Editor-in-Chief fact-checks every results page, champion table and record list.
  • Schedules list only dates that have been officially announced or reliably reported.

3. Opinion and analysis

Our writers have opinions, and we think fans want them. But opinion is always labelled — in “Our take” sections, grades and predictions — and is never mixed into the reporting of what happened.

4. Rumors

We publish rumors only when they come from an identifiable source, and we rate each one Confirmed, Likely, Speculative or Debunked. We update the rating when the story changes. We do not publish rumors about athletes’ private lives, health or legal matters. How we rate rumors.

5. Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it as soon as we are told and log significant corrections on our corrections page with the date and what changed. Send corrections to info@wrestlingheadliner.com.

6. Independence and conflicts of interest

Writers may not cover an athlete, promotion or company in which they have a financial interest. We do not accept payment for coverage, and sponsored content, if we ever publish it, will be clearly labelled.
