What happened
Mitchell Hooper won the Arnold Strongman Classic for the fourth year in a row in 2026, ahead of Austin Andrade and 2022 winner Martins Licis. Only Žydrūnas Savickas, with eight titles, has won the event more often.
Why the Arnold is different: it is built around the heaviest implements in the sport — giant axles, oversized stones, static lifts at the limit of human strength — and attracts athletes who skip moving-event contests. Winning it four times in a row against that field is a bigger achievement than any single WSM title.
Our take
Hooper’s run at the Arnold makes him the most successful strongman of the mid-2020s, and Andrade’s second place — his best Arnold finish — marks him as a contender for 2027. Our full Arnold Strongman Classic history has every podium since 2002.
