How We Rate Rumors

Every rumor we publish is rated Confirmed, Likely, Speculative or Debunked, and updated when its status changes.

Every rumor on Wrestling Headliner carries one of four ratings, shown at the top of the story:

RatingWhat it meansTypical evidence
ConfirmedOfficially announced by the promotion, federation or athleteOfficial announcement
LikelyReported by reliable outlets or strongly implied by confirmed facts, but not yet officialMultiple reliable reports; format or contracts point to it
SpeculativeA single or unverified sourceOne report, social media, unnamed sources
DebunkedDenied by the people involved or proven falseOfficial denial or contrary event

When a rumor’s status changes, we update the story and its rating, and the original claim stays visible so readers can see what changed. We do not publish rumors about athletes’ private lives, health or legal matters. Ratings are assigned by our news editor and reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief.
