What happened

The 2026 Mr. Olympia was the tightest at the top in years: Nick Walker won with 18 points, two ahead of Samson Dauda, with defending champion Derek Lunsford six back in third. Lower scores are better — each point is a judge’s placing — so a two-point gap means the panel was close to split between Walker and Dauda.

The Arnold champion fell to fourth. Andrew Jacked (Chinedu Obiekea), who beat Walker at the Arnold Classic in March, finished 16 points behind third place. It is a familiar Olympia pattern: the March winner peaks for Columbus and does not quite reach the same level in September.

Our take

Walker earned this with the most consistent conditioning of his career, and his win completes a set — Arnold Classic 2021, Mr. Olympia 2026. Brandon Curry, a former Mr. Olympia, finishing ninth is a sign that the Open has moved on. Regan Grimes and Tonio Burton have already re-qualified for 2027 by winning pro shows in the weeks after the Olympia.
