Men's Open is bodybuilding's heaviest and most prestigious division: there is no weight limit, and judges reward the combination of muscle size, conditioning, symmetry and presentation. The Olympia's Men's Open winner is Mr. Olympia.
Placings are decided by judges' rankings across pre-judging rounds — symmetry, mandatory poses and comparisons — and a final posing routine. Lower scores are better.

A fan's guide
When watching the Open, look for three things: overall size, conditioning (how lean and detailed the muscles are) and balance between upper and lower body. The comparisons round, where the top competitors are called out side by side, usually shows who the judges favour.
Our Mr. Olympia winners page has every champion since 1965.
Our take
The Open is in its most competitive period in years, with five different winners in the last six Olympias. That is good for the sport's storylines but makes the division harder to predict.
Walker's 2026 win was the right result; Dauda's narrow second keeps their rivalry alive for 2027.
What's next
Qualification for the 2027 Mr. Olympia is open until September 12, 2027.
