What happened
Qualifying for the Olympia is a year-long process. Each season’s window runs from the end of one Olympia to just before the next; for 2027 it opened on August 31, 2026 and closes on September 12, 2027. Athletes qualify by winning designated IFBB Pro League shows, by finishing in the top places at the previous Olympia, or through invitations.
Early qualifiers: the Men's Open already has seven names, including the 2026 top three and four pro-show winners. Regan Grimes, Tonio Burton and Michal Krizanek (Krizo) all finished in the top seven at the 2026 Olympia and then won pro shows within weeks, locking in their places early.
Our take
qualifying early lets an athlete plan a full off-season for the Olympia instead of chasing shows in the spring, and it is no coincidence that the most experienced competitors do it. Our qualification guide explains the routes in detail.
