What happened
Double or Nothing moved from its traditional Las Vegas home to Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens for 2026, and it produced three title changes. The biggest came last: MJF beat Darby Allin in a Title vs. Hair match to win the AEW World Championship for the third time, ending Allin’s run at 39 days.
MJF’s third reign did not last. He lost the title to Kenny Omega on July 8, and Omega lost it to Will Ospreay at All In on August 30. Double or Nothing therefore sits at the start of a three-month stretch in which the AEW World title changed hands three times.
Sources disagree on which teams opposed Team Jericho in Stadium Stampede, so we list only the winner.
Our take
Adam Copeland and Christian Cage winning the tag titles from FTR in an I Quit match was the best-built match on the card, and it kept two veterans in a meaningful program at a stage of their careers when tag wrestling suits them. The Owen Hart quarterfinals were the quiet winners of the night: Will Ospreay’s win over Samoa Joe began the tournament run that took him to the world title.
