Worlds End, first held in 2023, closes AEW's year. Samoa Joe won the AEW World Championship at the first edition on December 30, 2023, and MJF regained it at Worlds End 2025.
Worlds End, launched in 2023, closes AEW's calendar at the end of December. It hosts the final of the Continental Classic, AEW's round-robin tournament for the Continental Championship, as well as a world title match.
The Continental Classic format — round-robin blocks on weekly TV, then semifinals and a final — makes Worlds End the one AEW show built around a tournament.

A fan's guide
Worlds End is the payoff to the Continental Classic, which runs on Dynamite and Collision for several weeks before the show. If you follow the tournament's round-robin blocks, the semifinals and final at Worlds End are the most rewarding matches of AEW's year.
It is also usually the last wrestling pay-per-view of the calendar year, held just after Christmas.
Our take
Worlds End's tournament structure gives it a sporting feel that most wrestling shows lack, and Moxley winning two long matches in a night in 2025 was a great example of why. The world title four-way was the weaker part of the 2025 card.
We like that AEW ends its year with a show built on a season-long competition. It rewards fans who follow the weekly shows.
What's next
Worlds End 2026 is expected in late December, with the Continental Classic running on AEW television through November and December.
